For most of my life, I believed. I prayed. I went to church. From the outside, my faith looked exactly like it always had.
But somewhere along the way, God had started to feel far away.
I'd still open my Bible. I'd still say my prayers. But I'd close the book and feel… nothing. No nearness. No voice. Just words on a page and a quiet ache I didn't want to admit to anyone.

And the hardest part? I started to wonder if something was wrong with me. Like everyone else could still feel Him, and I'd somehow lost the connection.
I tried everything to get it back. New devotionals. Verse-of-the-day apps. Sermons and podcasts on repeat. They filled the time, but none of them closed the distance. I'd feel something for a day or two, then slip right back into going through the motions.

At my niece's wedding, I noticed my aunt Emily, who's in her 70s, reading quietly between songs. She had this calm, settled presence about her, the kind I hadn't felt in myself for years. When I asked what she was reading, she smiled and said, "It's my Perfect Bible."
She handed it to me. A beautifully bound book with her name on the cover. Inside, every page had room for notes and reflections, and the verses were in large, easy-to-read print. "It's a Bible and a notebook in one," she said.
But it wasn't the book that struck me. It was her. Focused. Peaceful. Connected. Like she was actually with God, not just reading about Him.

I'll admit I was skeptical. Another "modern Bible"? Really? But the way she talked about her time with God was something I hadn't felt in a long time.
That night, I looked it up. I figured, if it's a gimmick, I'm out $29. But if it helps me feel close to Him again… it's worth it.

Thick pages I wasn't afraid to write on. A soft cover with my own name. Large, clear print. But what changed things wasn't the paper.
The first night, I told myself I'd read for ten minutes. An hour later I was still there, reading a passage, opening the app to understand what it actually meant, and writing the prayer that was sitting on my heart in the margin beside it. For the first time in a long time, it didn't feel like a chore. It felt like a conversation.

By the third morning, I noticed something I hadn't felt in years: I wasn't going through the motions. I was present. Just me, Scripture, and the sense that He was right there.
Here's what I finally understood.
It wasn't that something was wrong with me. And I didn't need to try harder or pray more. I'd just never had a way to slow down and actually meet God in the words.

Perfect Bible gave me a simple rhythm (read, understand, write, pray, reflect) that turned reading about God back into being with Him. The app explains each passage in plain English. The wide margins give you somewhere to bring what's on your heart. You stop skimming words and start hearing them.
It's been months now. I read most mornings. And my faith feels alive again, like I'm hearing His voice, not just reading His words.

Last time I saw my pastor, he noticed how much deeper my reflections had become. I told him what changed. He just smiled and said, "Sometimes the right format makes all the difference."
So here's why I had to share this, even if it ruffles a few feathers. If you still believe, still pray, still show up, but God has quietly started to feel far away, it isn't because your faith is broken. And it isn't because something is wrong with you. Sometimes you just need a way back into His Word that helps you feel Him again, instead of only reading about Him.
Note: They're running a limited-time deal right now, $29 (50% off), and they sell out fast. If you've been believing but not feeling Him lately, don't wait years like I did.
It's my 3rd perfect Bible book, I really like it and recommend to everyone. Greetings to you Alex! Very inspiring story. Thanks for puting my picture here as well.

Great story and great work Father Wilson
I know Emily and I remember when she was struggling so much, and it felt like nothing could help. But after she found her way back to God, everything changed. She’s more peaceful, more focused, and truly living in God’s grace now. Her faith shines through in everything she does.
Can't imagine my day without it. Its always on my bed
